✦ Synopsis

A new bromopyrrole alkaloid with a fused-hexacyclic skeleton containing two guanidine units, konbu'acidin A (1), has been isolated from an Okinawan marine sponge Hymeniacidon sp., and the structure was elucidated from spectroscopic data. Compound 1 exhibited inhibitory activity against cyclin dependent kinase 4 (cdk4).
