✦ Synopsis
Reported are the clinical, radiologieal and histological investigations of 44 disarticulated alloarthroplastie hip joints. Described are the microscopic and submicroscopic changes of the prothetic bed and of the regenerated capsule influenced from the synthetics abrasions. The observations leave the conclusion that, in addition to the known mechanical and toxic influences, foreign body reaction of the localised capsule tissues to the Polyester abrasions contribute to a premature loosening of the artificial hip joint.
