## Abstract The reaction between benzohydrazide and potassium bromate catalyzed by vanadium(IV) was studied under pseudoโfirstโorder condition keeping large excess of hydrazide concentration over that of the oxidant. The initiation of the reaction occurs through oxidation of the catalyst vanadium(I
