✦ Synopsis

The rate of the reaction of xenon to form xenon difluoride was measured. The influence of hydrogen fluoride, oxygen and nickel difluoride on the rate of this reaction was also determined. Results showing that the mechanism of the photochemical reaction between xenon and fluorine is rather complex will be discussed in detail.
