The pharmacokinetics of low-dose bolus L-carnitine (5 mg kg-1 body wt) in five haemodialysed children were investigated. Kinetic variables were obtained by applying a two-compartment open model. The elimination half-life was very short, 2.43 +/- 0.35 h, despite the reduced plasma clearance of 41.2 +
