The cathodic reduction of oxygen and the degradation of formaldehyde with hydrogen peroxide electrogenerated in situ was studied at graphite and modified graphite as cathodes. The peak current of the cathodic reduction of oxygen increased significantly when anodically treated graphite and graphite m
