✦ Synopsis
The dissociation rate constants of copper complexes of the type ML with r.-hydroxyproline and with D-allohydroxyproline have been determined by cyclic voltammetry. It has been noticed that these values are a function of the free ligand concentration [L-l. Since at the potential range where these complexes are being reduced the free ligand is being adsorbed on the mercury, as has been checked by ac voltammetry, there is an increase of the lability of the complex due to the adsorption of the ligand on the electrode and the induced adsorption of copper(H). The L-hydroxyprolinate is more adsorbed than the n-allohydroxyprolinate due to the cis position of OH and carboxylate groups in relation to the pyrrolidine ring, in the last ligand.
