โฆ Synopsis
We develop a Smoluchowski-type mean-field theory to study the kinetics of coagulation in a fluid&The influence of the fluid is assumed only to trigger the occurrence of the screening through the formation of non-contact, potential-hounded clusters. The reaction-aggregation process is overwhelmingly dominant in our model system and is characterized by the screening exponent. The critical kinetics near gelation is studied for the case of the product kernel: K,= i"j*. It is found that the critical exponents are different from those of the simple aggregation processes and decrease with the increase of the screening exponent. A criterion for gelation to occur is given and the post-gel solution is discussed.
