The rate constant for the self-reaction of the peroxyl radical derived from methanol, HOCH,OO', has been measured over the temperature range 5-53ยฐC. The radical has a maximum absorptivity of 970 I! mol-' cm-' at 240 nm and an absorptivity of about 510 P mol-' cm-' at 280 nm. From a modified Arrheniu
