Abstract
Kinetics and mechanism of oxidation of benzoin (H~2~B) by ferrozine (Fz) or 2,2'βbipyridine (bipy) have been carried out in aqueous HNO~3~ medium. The rate shows firstβorder dependence on [H~2~B] and [Fe^3+^] and inverse secondβorder dependence on [H^+^]. The rate of reaction increased with increase in the ligand concentration. The increase in dielectric constant will increase the rate, while increase in [HNO~3~] decreased it. Substituent and temperature effects on the rates have been investigated. The rate laws derived are in excellent agreement with the experimental results. Plausible mechanisms are suggested. Β© 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Int J Chem Kinet 37: 444β449, 2005

## Abstract The kinetics and mechanism of the oxidation of carbon by NO~2~ in absence and presence of water vapor were studied in a fixed bed reactor. The rate of carbon oxidation by NO~2~ is enhanced in the presence of water vapor in the range of temperature 300β400Β°C. The benefit effect of water
The oxidation of perfluorobutene-2 (C 4 F 8 ) initiated by trifluoromethyl hypofluorite (CF 3 OF) in presence of O 2 has been studied at 323.1, 332.6, 342.5, and 352.0 K, using a conventional static system. The initial pressure of CF 3 OF was varied between 4.8 and 23.6 Torr, that of C 4 F 8 between
The kinetic study and mechanism of the permanganic oxidation of L-glutamine in sulfuric acid has been carried out both in the absence and presence of silver (I) using a spectrophotometric technique. Activation parameters have been evaluated using the Arrhenius and Eyring plots. Mechanisms consistent
The kinetics of oxidation of some neutralized β£-hydroxy compounds such as glycolic (GA), lactic (LA), β£-hydroxyisobutyric(IB), mandelic (MA), atrolactic (AL), and benzilic (BA) acids by tetrachloroaurate(III) have been studied. The substrates are oxidized to give formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, acetone,
## Abstract The principal reactants interact in a molar ratio of 2:1 forming dihydroindophenol and the corresponding disulfide. The order of reaction is unity with respect to each reactant, namely, __N__βacetyl Lβcysteine and indophenol. The rate shows an inverse linear relation with hydroxyl ions.
