✦ Synopsis

The kinetics of ethylene polymerization with TiCl,/MgCl,/SiO, has been investigated in the range of temperatures between 40 and 90Β°C and in the range of ethylene pressures between 4 and 12.4 kg/cm2. The role of MgCI, was discussed from the dependence of the Mg/Ti ratio on the catalytic activity. The polymerzation rate was first order with respect to the monomer concentration and the dependence of the polymerization rate on the concentration of Al(C,H& could be described by the Langmuir-Hinshelwood mechanism. The dependence of initial rate and the time to reach the maximum polymerization rate on the concentration of Al(C,H,), was also discussed. Polymerization rates as a function of the polymerization temperature showed a maximum and the activation energy was 11.8 kcal/mol between 50 and 80Β°C. The polymerization rate decreased with the increase of hydrogen partial pressure. The active site concentration ( C * ) was 1.9 X mol/mol Ti by the inhibition method with carbon monoxide.

## Abstract Spherical MgCl~2~Β·nEtOH was prepared by adducting ethanol to MgCl~2~ using melt quenching method. Effect of molar ratio of [EtOH]/[MgCl~2~] = 2.8–3.05 on the morphology and particle size of the MgCl~2~Β·nEtOH were studied. The best adduct of spherical morphology was obtained when 2.9 mol

This study focuses on the kinetics of ethylene/propylene (homo/co)polymerization reactions using a high activity TiCl 4 /MgCl 2 /AlEt 3 catalyst. The reactor system is a gas phase reactor equipped with an on-line composition control scheme. As such, important kinetic data such as the instantaneous r

Monomer transport and polymerization kinetics are two key phenomena in olefin polymerization with heterogeneous transition metal catalysts. To have a better understanding of these interrelated kinetics and diffusion phenomena, a quantitative calculation of the monomer diffusion directly from experim

The use of a polyethylene-based copolymer with dual functional groups (polyethylene-gr-2-tert-butyl amino ethyl methacrylate) as the support for TiCll catalyst in ethylene polymerization was studied. Different methods for treating the support were examined and treatment with BuMgCl was found to be t
