After Ricks involvement with stopping an attempted robbery nearly exposed the existence of mutants to the public, Kaitlyns position as team leader is in jeopardy. An unexpected link to Ricks past, exposed as a result of the fight, provides her one last chance to prove herself.
That link, a drug capable of turning ordinary people into high-powered mutant soldiers, appears to be similar to the one that gave Rick his extraordinary powers. A treatment he was exposed to while still involved with Maelstrom.
The only lead they have is the name of a place Rick never thought hed ever hear again. A base located somewhere in the heart of an area where technology fails, a mysterious place known to the locals as La Zona del Silencio, otherwise known as the Zone of Silence.
Making matters worse is the discovery that the enemy has a weapon that can not only neutralize Ricks powers, they can incapacitate him completely. On top of all that, Rick is starting to hallucinate. He keeps hearing murmuring voices that dont exist, causing him to question his own sanity.
Now its a race against time to find the source of the drug and shut it down before Maelstrom launches their master plan to eliminate the worlds governments and take over and before Rick loses his mind.
