β¦ Synopsis
A generalized kinetic model for Slv autoxidation catalyzed with transition metal ions is presented. The model is based on the main assumption that the mechanism of metal ion hydrolysis is identical for all catalytically active metals. Interpretation for the apparently inconsistent kinetics of sulphite autoxidation under homogeneous and heterogeneous conditions is given. Mechanistic impacts of oxygen reaction space limited to the liquid film are discussed.
