The operation of the SDERF ell in the study of the electron transfer kinetics of the Fe(CN)' e /Fe(CN)6 --system in 1 M KCI and 1 M KNO 3 -solutions at a stationary Pt-disk electrode is reported . The experimental current-overpotential curves are recorded by linear sweep voltammetry and analysed by

✦ Synopsis
Alw&ract -The construction and operation of an electrochunical cell provided with a sde in a uniformly rotating fluid (SDERF-all) are &ported. The test ofthe SDERF-cell with respect to the diffusionaI kinetics is made with the Fe(CNg--Fe(CN):-system in 1 M solutions of NaOH, KCI and KN03, in potentiodynamic conditions. The linear relationship between the limiting diffusion current I, and the square root of the angular velocity of the rotor, O, liz holds, but the straight line does not intercept Ihe coordinate axes in the origin. The square root of the angular velocity of fluid, o, "' -calculated from 4 -depends only on the w:"value irrespective of the concentration and the physical properties of the fluid. The diffusion coefficients and the activation energy of diffusion. E., in 1 M KNOJ were measured; E., = 3.15 kcal/mol for both Fe(CN)zand Fe(CN)z--ions.
