Abstract
Experiments on the drying of high moisture municipal solid waste (MSW) were carried out in a muffle incinerator, and a series of lostβmass rate curves were obtained. The results show that lost mass is already over 80% for a castock, but only 30% for a potato block after 25 minutes when the drying temperature is higher than 120^Β°^C. Arrhenius equations and the activation energies of the drying process of castock and a potato block from a drying temperature of 100^Β°^C to 200^Β°^C were obtained from experimental data. The results show that lower energy is required for completely drying castock and a potato block. Β© 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of temperature (50, 60, and 70Β°C) and moisture content (18, 21, and 24%) on the quality of jerky products from ostrich meat. The jerky products were evaluated by physicochemical and sensory methods. The tensile strength of the
## Abstract The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of moisture content on the specific methanogenic activity (SMA) of a fresh dry mesophilic digestate from a municipal solid waste digester plant. For this purpose, SMA tests were performed under mesophilic conditions in 500 mL gla
