โœฆ Synopsis


The isothermal decomposition of un-irradiated and pre-y-irradiated dehydrated nickel oxalate has been studied in the temperature range 250-365ยฐC. Irradiation appears to increase the number of potential nuclei-forming sites without modificationof the mechanism ofthe thermal decomposition, which has been shown to proceed by a nucleation and growth mechanism both for un-irradiated and pre-y-irradiated samples of nickel oxalate. Application of Vand-Primak method for analysis of the decomposition data and calculation of activation energies of the decomposition process gives a good fit with that calculated using Arrhenious equation.
