β¦ Synopsis
How busy can a person get? For Doctor June Kato, not busy enough.
June is one of LA's most respected neurosurgeons, and also a top fashion model. What she doesn't realize is she will soon become the city's busiest detective.
A new Japanese department store is opening in Los Angeles, and has plans for an advertising campaign photo shoot to highlight their top notch kimono. When plans run afoul, June invites the crew to use her home garden as the photo venue, a treasure her grandfather built in the hills above the city. But a problem crops up when a young woman in wedding kimono is found in the garden tea house--and she isn't a model.
June knows a thing or two about seppuku, the old fashioned Japanese way of suicide, and gives the investigating detective a primer in the subject. Soon her peaceful garden is turned into a beehive of police and crime scene technicians. It isn't long before she goes from innnocent bystander to Suspect Number One in the investigation. With each passing day more incriminating evidence turns up and the suspicions grow deeper.
The week passes while she spends her days at the hospital and her evenings in the garden, perfecting it for the photo shoot scheduled for only a few days away. On top of that she must prepare herself for one of her most important fashion shoots of her waning career. But does she have the time to chase clues and criminals during one of her most exhausting weeks in ages? Or will she only be chasing her own tail?..M.F
