✦ Synopsis
US: TOR Minerals -ATH, barium sulfate & natural titanium pigment
TOR Minerals (of Corpus Christi, TX) is taking steps to increase its sales of Hitox milled synrutile (described as "natural titanium pigment"), Bartex barium sulfate and Aluprem alumina trihydrate in various regions of the North American market. It recently established warehousing facilities at Madison, IL to support sales in the Mid-West region and it is planning to set up similar facilities in Vancouver, BC to support sales in Western Canada. The company already has warehousing facilities in Los Angeles, CA to support sales on the West Coast of the USA.
Business this year has certainly been better than last year. For the first nine months of 2002, TOR Minerals reported net profit at $475,000 on sales of $12.4 M. That compares against a loss of $528,000 on sales of $11.4 M in the corresponding period of 2001.
