The SIDDHARTA experiment (SIlicon Drift Detector for Hadronic Atom Research by Timing Application) aims to perform a precise measurement of the X-ray K-series of kaonic hydrogen and the first-ever measurement of kaonic deuterium, to obtain the strong-interaction energy-level shifts and widths of the

✦ Synopsis
Recent progress in the experimental study of the low energy KN interaction using the kaonic X-ray measurement is reviewed. After introduction to the usefulness of the light kaonic atoms as probe for the low energy KN interaction and to the kaonic hydrogen puzzle, the result of the recent KEK-PS E228 experiment is presented. Then the preparation status of the DA(I)NE DEAR. experiment is briefly reported with its aims and the expected consequences of the measurement.

The long-standing problem, known to be "Kaonic Hydrogen Puzzle", has been solved by recent KEK experiment, which reports a repulsive shift of the Kaonic Hydrogen ls atomic state. Physics interest is now in the precise determination of the interaction including isospin dependence. We report a brief s
