Based on these proprietary technology platforms hte (the high throughput experimentation company) provides to the global chemical processing industries the possibility of a many-fold improvement in the cost-effectiveness of research and development programs. The established highthroughput experimentation (HTE) process offers a faster and more effective route to better products and processes and comprises the experimental aspects of synthesis, processing, characterization, and testing or screening, integrated with design and modeling stages in a suitable informatics environment. The necessary experimental stages ¹Designª, ¹Makeª, ¹Testª, and ¹Modelª are implemented in a concerted fashion in order to enable a successful use of the available HTE tool-set. This requires a high level of understanding of both the application area itself, and in strength and limitations of the tools. In this contribution selected examples of the HTE methodology with regard to catalysis research will be presented.
