✦ Synopsis

The K-shell internal conversion coefficient for the 145 keV/-forbidden M1 transition in X4Wr has been measured by comparing the intensities of K X-rays and F-rays. The absorption of K X-rays and 7-rays in the absorbing material of the crystal package was determined experimentally. A value of uK = 0.376=1=0.007 was obtained for the transition. Possible nuclear structure effects are discussed. The ratio of electron penetration matrix element to normal F-ray matrix element obtained is +5.0 _~ 2stun ~----0.4.
