โœฆ Synopsis

Chell and Harrison [i]

have drawn attention to the stress intensity factor -crack length relationships of a number of specimen types commonly used for crack growth studies, at constant loading point displacement. In particular they showed that SEN 3 point bend specimens have very nearly constant K charactertistics over the range 0.25 < a/w < 0.45 and CT specimens show a steadily declining value of K with increasTng crack length.
