β¦ Synopsis
From School Library Journal
Gr1-3βJudy Moody has been reading too many Nancy Drew novels. She is looking for a mystery to solve when Officer Kopp visits the school with his police dog. When the dog goes missing a few days later, Judy pulls together her brother and friends to form a detective club and save the day. Judy is an endearing mix of precocious and familiar with just the right amount of exaggeration. The same could be said of the story. Watercolor-and-ink drawings break up the text.Amelia Jenkins, Juneau Public Library, AK

From Booklist
Judy Moody is a Nancy Drew fan, so she is thrilled when it seems mysteries are all around her. First she figures out who stole her candy, but thatβs Stink, of course. Then she locates her teacherβs glasses, though they werenβt exactly stolen. But when Mr. Chips, a police pup, goes missing, she has a real case on her hands. Kids who know the Nancy Drew books will enjoy this even more, as many Drewisms are sprinkled throughout. Mysteries and Moody, a winning combination. Grades 3-5. --Ilene Cooper
