โฆ Synopsis
"Journey to Infinity" is a 1951 anthology of short stories edited by Martin Greenberg. It's the second book in a five-volume Gnome Press series called Adventures in Science Fiction. The series often is credited with producing the first "theme" anthologies in science fiction, where all stories are about a common idea, setting, or concept.
The theme of "Journey to Infinity" is an overall story that tells The Imaginative History of Mankind.
All but two of the stories in "Journey to Infinity" originally appeared from 1942-1950 in the pulp magazine Astounding Science Fiction. "Atlantis," part of the Lensman series, first appeared in the book version of "Triplanetary" in 1948. "Barrier of Dread" originally was published in the pulp mag Future Combined with Science Fiction Stories in 1950.
The dust jacket illustration is by the iconic Edd Cartier.
