Quantum coherence develops spontaneously in bilayer quantum Hall systems when the Coulomb exchange energy is dominant. We argue that there exists a distinctive transition between the coherent phase and the resonant phase because di erent types of skyrmions are excited in these two phases.
The Josephson effect is one manifestation of the quantum aspect of macroscopic objects. It has been tested in various macroscopic systems to confirm their quantummechanical nature. In some of the systems, the total number of particles in the system is fixed. In such a case, the dynamics of the syst
