✦ Synopsis


A global fit of all currently available rotation -vibration energies has been made for 24 vibrational states of the H 80 2 Se molecule. The resulting set of 112 parameters reproduces the initial 3516 vibration -rotation energies with a mean accuracy of 10.6 1 10 03 cm 01 . Using this model as a starting point, the rotational fine structure of the extremely weak local mode bands ( 13 / ; 1 ) / ( 13 0 ; 1) and (06 / ; 0 ) /( 06 0 ; 0 ) could be analyzed; the results are discussed.
