The Handbook of Advanced Multilevel Analysis (HAMA) is an edited book covering a wide range of topics in multilevel analysis. The editors aspire to provide "a comprehensive handbook of advanced applications in multilevel modeling. . . aimed at researchers with advanced training in multivariate and multilevel analysis" (p. vii). The HAMA does cover a wide range of multilevel modeling topics (including a few topics neglected in similar books), and is geared toward applications with examples appearing in most chapters. However, the level of mathematical detail and difficulty varies drastically from chapter to chapter, and only a few chapters provide material that could be considered "advanced."
