When Heather Cooper married Peter, she thought that she had finally found someone who could handle the inseparable bond she shares with her gay best friend, Justin Perrotta. It’s only a matter of time, however, before jealousy rears its ugly head and Peter’s true feelings emerge. He starts drinking and his erratic behavior threatens their marriage.

Burned by an ex-boyfriend, Justin refuses to open his heart to love again. Wild relationships and one night stands leave him lonely and unfulfilled, even though he will not admit it. He finds love when he least expects it, but his fear of commitment threatens to ruin the best thing that has ever happened to him.

In this modern day ‘Will and Grace’ meets ‘Sex and the City’, two best friends, a straight woman and a gay man, struggle to find someone to love as much as they love each other.

Excerpt:

[spoiler]The first two weeks without David were rough on Justin. Heather tried everything to cheer him up, but he just sat on the couch and stared at the TV or at the wall, and barely said anything.

She was determined to break his bad mood and hoped a visit to his favorite restaurant for brunch followed by a surprise shopping trip would lift his spirits a little.

She was so engrossed in her announcement about the day she had planned for the two of them that she didn’t notice the grin on his face or the sparkle in his eye.

Her broadcast was interrupted by a gorgeous blond exiting the bathroom, adorned in nothing except a crisp white bath towel. Her eyes were immediately drawn to his well-defined chest and abs, and she stared, frozen, with her mouth gaping open. He smiled at her as he walked past her and into the bedroom. She never expected Justin to jump into bed with someone so soon after he split up with David. Justin giggled and raised a suggestive eyebrow.

His mystery date emerged from the bedroom in jeans and a pair of boots, leaving Heather wondering what the hell happened to his shirt, not that she minded ogling a stellar pair of pecs.

The shirtless boy-wonder strutted up to Justin, placed one hand behind his neck, slid the other around his waist and gave Justin the deepest kiss she had ever seen. He tossed a folded piece of paper on the coffee table and uttered a cavalier, “Call me,” before he sauntered out the front door.

Heather was a sexual person and her body craved a man’s touch. The bartender presented her with a Martini, courtesy of the smiling gentleman across the bar. Before she had a chance to hold her glass up in thanks, he was on his way over to introduce himself. As she shook his hand, his eyes dropped and remained at her cleavage. It was exactly the reaction she was looking for when she selected the low-cut top. Tonight was about sex, pure and simple. After thirty minutes of suggestive body language, he invited her back to his apartment. His hands on her flesh made her sigh. Her passion was finally freed. She was the aggressor. He showed surprise at her eagerness, but she knew he enjoyed it.

“I have some toys, if you want to play,” he whispered. He leaned over and pulled a box out from under the bed. She peered into it. It was a sex shop in a box. She lifted the box onto the bed and sifted through it.
