increased by 5-7% between 2003 and 2004 and it is expected to grow by a further 6% in 2005. Consumption is estimated at 92,000 tonnes for 2004, which looks rather high compared against Artikol's preliminary estimate of 70,000 tonnes or less. However, the two sources agree that Russian paint production increased by only 1% in volume terms and by 6-7% in value terms between 2003 and 2004.

The 'PPCJ' estimate for the size of the Ukrainian market also looks rather high -at 19,000-20,000 tonnes, of which 4000-5000 tonnes is imported. Local experts are forecasting 5-10% per annum growth over the next few years.
