Production of certain dyes and speciality chemicals will be transferred to another CCIL complex, at Roha (also in Maharashtra province). CCIL was created in 2006 as a result of the amalgamation of four Clariant affiliates, namely Colour-Chem, Vanavil Dyes & Chemicals, Kundalika Investments and BTP India. The company now has a share capital of Rup 266.6 M, owned 63.4% by the Clariant parent company (headquartered in Switzerland), 13% by various Indian financial institutions and 24% by other investors. Its annual sales revenue is of the order of Rup 8 bn, derived from pigments, dyes, additives, masterbatches and various speciality chemicals intended for applications in the textile, leather and paper industries. Besides Kolshet and Roha, CCIL has two other production sites near Mumbai, namely at Thane and Khopoli. It also has two sites in Tamil Nadu province, notably Kanchipuram and Cuddalore-Sipcot.
