A new, extended contract has been secured by James Walker & Co to provide mining and exploration company Rio Tinto with a range of products and provide technical assistance covering compression packing, and radial shaft and hydraulic seals.
For a number of years James Walker has served Rio Tinto factories in the UK and France, providing products and similar technical services.
This new contract will see the firm servicing an additional 15 Rio Tinto Alcan plants in Europe and Africa. In partnership with the client's local purchasing and technical personnel, commercial and engineering teams will initially work to implement a programme of product and process reviews.
The overall aim of this multi-site international project is to create savings by lowering the total cost of ownership.
