✦ Synopsis
Ayant abattu froidement un marchand d'armes qui transigeait avec un réseau de terroristes, l’agent secret James Bond est blâmé en raison de ses méthodes trop musclées. Sa supérieure le laisse néanmoins poursuivre son enquête visant à éliminer la tête dirigeante de ce réseau. Cette mission amène l'agent 007 à faire échouer un attentat à la bombe à l'aéroport de Miami, causant du même coup la ruine du financier Le Chiffre, lié de près à la filière terroriste. Voulant se renflouer, celui-ci participe à une partie de poker à haut risque dans un casino. Grâce à des fonds fournis par Vesper Lynd, une représentante du trésor britannique, James Bond prend part à ce match dans le but de battre Le Chiffre pour ensuite le forcer à devenir informateur pour les services secrets.
