Recently, the interoperability among different CAD/CAM systems has been increasingly essential to expand the use of CAD/CAM systems in the automotive development processes. To ensure the interoperability, the "CAD Data Exchange Standardization Task Force" has been established by JAMA (Japan Automotive Manufacturers Association). This report describes the overview of the activities of the Task Force promoting the CAD data exchange standardization.
