✦ Synopsis
A first key to British Ephemeroptera, published by the Freshwater Biological Association (D. E. KIMMINS), included keys to the families and genera both of adults and nymphs.-Revised keys to the adults were published in 1954, 1972, and nymphs were treated separately in 1961, 1976, and 1979 by T. T. MACAN. These keys have now been.revised and enlarged to include information on the taxonomy and ecology of Continental European Ephemeroptera by Dr. HUMPESCH in Austria. The second half of this handbook concerns the "fascinating life-histories and behaviours that are of much interest t o entomologists and freshwater biologists" (LECREN in his preface). All the illustrations are new original drawings by M. MIZZARO-WIMMER, D. E. KIMMINS and J. M.
