β¦ Synopsis
Under plane stress, the contour integral J is evaluated using strain gauge measurements on a cracked test specimen. Results compare favorably with the conventional compliance technique for experimental J evaluation except at relatively small loads. The technique holds the potential for real-time, single-specimen J evaluation.

## Abstract The electrochemical behaviour of two steels typically used in power boilers has been studied in the temperature range from 540Β°C to 680Β°C. Two environments were used: a) a synthetic salt mixture of 80% V~2~O~5~ β 20% Na~2~SO~4~ and b) oil ash collected from a high temperature reheater.
