β¦ Synopsis
It's No Picnic is a dark comical novella that maintains, to the very end, an invariable, inexorable air of perplexity and peculiarity. In order to exist in his new unbearable and odd world, Alex Lax accepts it as "absurd, ridiculous, and ironic," while all the time maintaining an outward sense of normality. As with Lax, this book is a quite absurd and perhaps even meaningless comedy that dispels with normal fictional methods of writing. In it, the author uses various techniques such as, metafictional and monosyllabic verse, to tell a "story" many will find amusing. Keep in mind; many things are missing from the story-on purpose. Above all, don't take it too seriously. A metafictional mystery told in the essence of Lewis Carroll.
