CULLIGAN SIGNS TURKMENISTAN DEAL

Culligan International, the recently acquired subsidiary of US Filter, has signed a framework agreement with the Republic of Turkmenistan to provide more than US$200 million worth of water treatment equipment and services. The equipment will be used to improve Turkmenistan's water infrastructure and allow it to accommodate the growing water needs for communities and industry throughout the country, including the capital, Ashgabat. The agreement covers a number of projects that are expected to extend for more than five years. The projects include several sea and brackish water desalination plants in urban, industrial and agricultural areas, refurbishment and expansion of piping networks and pumping stations, as well as groundwater reclamation and aquifer control.
