I 55 lems and requirements of the laundry and dry-cleaning industry. The methods, materials and equipment are gone into in some detail. Methods are given for evaluating the results of the cleaning process.

The chapters on cleaning in the food, beverage, and dairy industries point out the considerable progress made in meeting the sanitary requirements in these essential industries. These specialized requirements demanded tailor made detergents and methods. These developments are described.

A chapter oi1 dishwashing presents this ubiquitous drudgery in an encouraging light. Nmnerous cleaning mixtures are given and evaluated. The many types of equipments are shown and described and evaluated. This is followed by a discussion of the problem of metal cleaning, and general industrial cleaning.

This is a good book and is certainly to be recommended for use by those who want to familiarize themselves with the modern cleaning materials and techniques.
