โฆ Synopsis
The authors determined isotherms of helium at liquid helium temperatures, up to densities near those of the saturated vapour. Table II gives the virial coefficients. The second virial coefficient, B, is compared with the results of computations made by Massey and Bucking ham, by De Boer and Michelsandby
Gropper. The third virial coefficient, C, is found to be distinctly negative at and below the boiling point of helium. The experimental values seem to indicate that it will pass through zero between 4.3 and 4.4"K. Below 3.1"K it increases rapidly to large negative values.
