✦ Synopsis

1, 2, 3-Tri-(Z)-9,oetadeeenoylglyeerol (triolein) and 1, 2, 3-tri-(Z)-I 3-docosenoylglycero! (trieruein) were partially hydrogenateA using a palladium catalyst. The unszturated acyl moieties at the 2-position of I, 2, 3-triaeylglye~ols wez~ reduced at a -slower rate thar~ those a~. the 1, 3-positions. The extent of geometrical isomerization ~mctly higher and the dc, ubte bonds w~e ~mewhat more scattered in the aeyl moieties at the 2-position than tho: ~. at 1-ar.d 3-positions.
