✦ Synopsis
A smectic liquid-crystalline stationary phase was used in high resolution gas chromatography for the analysis of the patterns of the chloro-homologues of the polychlorodibenzodioxins and polychlorodibenzofurans. Unique selectivity for most of the 2,3,7,8-class congeners was observed. Use of this phase as an alternative to cyanopropylsilicone phases in the isomer-specific analysis of halogenated and mixed halogenated dibenzodioxins and dibenrofurans is discussed.
