✦ Synopsis
New salfredin-type chromene and benzofurane metabolites ( ¤ were isolated from submerged cultures of the fungal strains Crucibulum laeve DSM 1653 and C. laeve DSM 8519. The structures were elucidated on the basis of UV-VIS spectroscopic, mass spectrometric and NMR spectroscopic evidence. The new metabolites are discussed as intermediates and shunt metabolites of the fungal aromatic pathway leading to A-, B-and C-type salfredins.
