✦ Synopsis

Abstract

As part of her seizure disorder, a young woman with temporal lobe epilepsy had prolonged attacks of isolated fear associated electrographically with right temporal lobe status epilepticus. The attacks stopped after right temporal lobectomy. Fear by itself, a rare manifestation of complex partial seizures, probably occurs when the abnormal discharges are confined to the anterior temporal region.
