✦ Synopsis

The a-aminoheterocycle (0.1 mol) is dissolved in anhydrous benzene or toluene and dropped into a boiling mixture of oxalyl chloride (0.4-0.5 mol) and anhydrous benzene or toluene (1-2 mol). The whole is boiled under reflux until evolution of gas is completed ( 2 4 h). After filtration (crystalline precipitates that are sometimes formed consist of the bisoxamides) and removal of solvent by distillation, the residue is distilled in a vacuum.
