Abstract
Today's big companies rely on their IT systems and networks in a huge wayβand that concentrates a substantial portion of a company's risk in the IT organization. Virtually no activity within a company can now happen without major help from IT. So IT organization structure can no longer function as an afterthoughtβbecause a poorly performing IT organization creates unacceptable risk for the company.
