✦ Synopsis
RE oxide/hydroxide mixtures can serve as starting materials for the synthesis of the 123 (REBa?Cu307 ~) superconductor, and a process based on such materials is far more economic than tho~e s~arting from pure RE oxide. However, in order to obtain phase pure samples, lanthanum in the RE oxide mixture must be treated as an element occupying the barium site.
