โฆ Synopsis
t a recent hearing dealing with IRS abuses, Commissioner Rossotti indicated A that there would be significant upcoming changes in how the IRS operates.
Ills that have plagued the agency for years include an antiquated computer system that did not work properly, service staff that were unable to help taxpayers with even the simplest questions, a phone service that was nearly impossible for taxpayers to use, and agents who terrorized taxpayers. The latest round ofhearings again indicated that the IRS has become a federal agency in which employees can get away with the most flagrant violations of conduct against taxpayers and other employees without fear of any meaningful discipline.
