Abstract
This paper presents an open radiating structure composed of two patch antennas in their main radiation mode working in the near‐field or Rayleigh region. We describe how the structure was built and our simulations and measurements have proven the performance of the irradiator. The radiating structure must radiate uniformly on a planar surface to ease the radiation of biological samples. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
