✦ Synopsis
The IR CO laser (wavelength 5.5 lm) pumping power I p treatment shows significant enhancement of the optical second harmonic generation in layered CdI 2 -Cu crystallites at thickness below 10 nm. For the relatively thick layers (higher than 15 nm) the SHG dependence manifests a slight decrease (at I p about 8 MW/cm 2 ). With the further increase of the I p the corresponding SHG dependence is saturated. Substantial changes occur at thickness below 10 nm. One can observe an appearance of the SHG maximum at CO laser pump power density about 20 MW/cm 2 .
