✦ Synopsis
Sharp peaks were observed in the IR spectra of ally1 alcohol dimers in the "OH and TOH regions in low-temperature Ar and N2 matrices. In Ar 3 peak nt 3587 cm-' was found to increase in intensity upon annealing and dccresse upon IR irradistion;it is concluded that this peak is due to an OH..a interaction (of 3 cyclic structure) present in part of the dimers. This is the first time such an interaction snd photoproccss hnve been found for an alcohol in matrices. Also a faster photoprocess was found. Conformer changes in the monomers accompany the photoprocess in ally1 alcohol dimers.
